The Canadian Lester B. Pearson scholarships for the batch of 2023-2024 are announced for international students. Lester B. Pearson grant is an annual, fully funded Canadian scholarship awarded by the University of Toronto. University of Toronto is one of the most prestigious international universities in the world. How to apply for the Lester B. Pearson Scholarships
First and foremost, to apply for the Lester Pearson scholarship, the candidate must apply for admission for an undergraduate program at the University of Toronto. Applicant can choose from a variety of study areas such as life sciences, engineering, computer sciences, music, architecture, commerce and management, humanities and social sciences, anesthesiology and physical education, and lastly, physical and mathematical sciences.
Applicants can apply for admission in more than one course, however, they must pick their course of choice while applying for the scholarship. During the application process, applicants can rank their top three programs. The candidates will only be considered for the Pearson scholarship in their first-choice course and the scholarship will only be valid for their first choice program.
It is only possible to apply for the Lester B. Pearson scholarship after one has been nominated by their school or institute. Eligibility criteria for Lester B Pearson Scholarships
With this scholarship, University of Toronto is looking for students who show an interest in their extra curricular activities, participate in community services and demonstrate skills that can place them as future leaders. There is a certain criterion that the applicants need to meet, if they are to be considered eligible to apply for the scholarship.
First of all, only international students (i.e., non Canadian students who require a study permit) are allowed to apply for this scholarship. Next, the candidate applying must be in their final year of high school, or graduating high school in the summer of 2022 (after may). Lastly, the students applying for the scholarship must be starting their undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto in September 2023. Students who have already started their post-secondary studies at any institute or are not first-entry graduates are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Lester Pearson Scholarship Application Deadline: November 30, 2022
There are 3 deadlines to keep in mind for the Pearson scholarship.
The deadline for schools’ nomination of scholarship candidates is 30th November, 2022.
The deadline for the submission of the student OUAC application is 14th December, 2022. All students who want to be considered for the scholarship must ensure that they have their applications submitted well before 7th November as the competition is tough and slots are very limited in most programs.
Lastly, the deadline for the student scholarship application is 16th January 2023.
After application, students can expect to hear the University’s decision by April 2023.
