Canadian Jobs by Atlantic Immigration Program 2023 – Apply for Jobs

Canadian Jobs by Atlantic Immigration Program 2023 – Many foreigners have started to migrate to Canada for higher studies. This is because of the scholarships offered by Canadian institutes. However, overseas students go to Canada for their higher studies because of the labor opportunities in the country which means that they can set up a good career in the country after their studies. Similarly, foreigners travel to Canada to fill up the labor shortages in the country.

But all of these are short-term solutions because students are on study visas while workers travel on work visas. And these visas cannot substitute permanent Canadian residence which is mandatory for you to set up a feasible career in your preferred field. Keeping this in view, the Canadian Government has initiated various programs that offer permanent residency to foreign workers and international students who have recently graduated from Canadian institutions.

The Atlantic Immigration Program is one such program that has been highly successful recently. It has also garnered attention because of the benefits it offers to foreigners and fresh graduates. Follow this article to know more about the Atlantic Immigration Program, its eligibility criteria, application fees, required documents, and application procedure.

What is the Atlantic Immigration Program?

The Atlantic Immigration Program serves as a pathway for permanent residence for foreigners. This program is mainly aimed at foreign workers who want to work and live in Canada International students studying in Canadian institutions and graduating from these institutions are also eligible for this program. The program is named the Atlantic Immigration Program because it gives individuals an opportunity to work and live in one of the four Atlantic provinces of Canada which include:

  • New Brunswick
  • Nova Scotia
  • Prince Edward Island
  • Newfoundland and Labrador

The Canadian Immigration program aims to connect employers with the relevant candidates. The candidates hired by the employers in one of these provinces get enrolled in the Atlantic Immigration Program which means that they can get permanent residence in Canada. However, the main outline of this program is that employers must only hire for those positions that cannot be filled locally. This is because Canada has faced major labor shortages recently. Thus, this program addresses those labor shortages by employing foreign labor.

Employers cannot make job offers to the relevant candidates out of the blue under the banner of this program. To be eligible for the employer status, the company or individual must first get a designation from the Atlantic province where the hired candidate will be placed.

This procedure is followed by various validations and authorizations that are necessary for the safe progress of the program. The requirements include the submission of relevant documentation, visa requirements, etc. The employer is also required to get a provincial endorsement on the job offer to proceed further.

If the employer manages to get the provincial endorsement, they can apply for a temporary work permit for their selected candidate. This will require the employer to request a referral letter for their chosen candidate. If the employer and the candidate can meet all these requirements, only then the candidate can apply for the status of permanent residence in Canada.

Eligibility Criteria Checks for Atlantic Immigration Program

The Atlantic Immigration Program has been flooded with applications from international graduates and foreign workers. Due to the growing interest, eligibility criteria have been issued by the program’s administration to ensure that only high-quality labor is employed in Canadian companies. The candidates must also show that they can financially support themselves and their families in Canada without depending on any other means. This is essential because the Canadian Government does not want candidates who cannot support themselves and will require additional support later on. However, this proof may not be required if you are already working or living in Canada with a valid work permit.

You must also show adequate work experience that must accumulate to 1,560 hours in the last 5 years. This must be in one of the categories set out under the program.
